What do you know about Deep Brain Stimulation and Parkinson's Disease?
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) involves the use of an implantable system to provide stimulation to specific areas of the brain to control or lessen neurologic symptoms.
Currently DBS is used for Parkinson’s Disease and Essential Tremor. Additional applications are being investigated in some centers for other conditions such as dystonia.
A strong advocate of personalized care and dignity for all patients, one of Dr. Doran's special areas of interest includes Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
